Large Palette Knife Portraits by Salman Khoshroo

Working with a massive palette knife and thick globs of oil paint, Tehran-based painter Salman Khoshroo creates large-scale characters and portraits that virtually drip from the canvas. The dimensions of a computing device or mobile screen can be fairly deceiving, as most of those pieces are several ft tall, composed of enormously exact strokes that veer towards abstraction piece finally resulting in a cohesive character. A lot of the work seen right here were created for a 2015 exhibit at Azad Gallery and an exhibition before this year at Shirin Gallery. You can observe Khoshroo’s work on Facebook and Instagram.
