The Last Voyage by Alexander Houlton

This series was created from the hull of an old sailboat named “Danubia”.  I found Danubia in a boat graveyard of sorts in the bay area.  I brought the 39ft boat back to Reno in pieces and dismantled it to make my “canvases”.  Some of the designs I burned onto the inner side of the hull and other designs I used ink to do the line work and acrylic paint for the color.  Most of these pieces are large scale, averaging 3ft x 4ft and weighing around 50 pounds.  Custom made mounting hardware comes with each piece.
