Artist Andreas Englund

38-year-old Swedish artist Andreas Englund showed what happens to superheroes when they begin to age.

Although he still puts up a tough struggle, the wear and tear of battling crime have taken its toll with this older action figure. From a statement by Philipp Windmüller:

In a type of tender comic on a massive canvas, Englund describes the protagonist who is slowly but spending his remaining years together with human traits as a link between the artist himself and the audience. It was extremely important to Englund to portray the aging process with an intensified existence. If you would like to exude credibility into a personality, the person himself needs to face up fact and the aging procedure. He's got to acknowledge to himself that he cannot live up to expectations and the "perfect life" is nothing more than wishfulness. Englund's artworks are concentrated on the aging procedure. Even in the older age, it's still possible to achieve something valuable even though someone's drive and vigor will not bluster out explosively. Nevertheless, everyone in his advanced age deserves to be respected and recognized for what he has achieved in life
