This Artist Creates Ink Paintings on Arrays of Vintage Books

Spread across the pages of publications pinned from the wall like specimens, ink paintings that look like fragments of memory are created by artist Ekaterina Panikanova. Just like the content of outdated publications, the topics of every work appear from another era, while associated with recurring pictures of animals, layer cakes, lace, and explosions of ink engaged in occasions or actions. Occasionally an image is allowed to span guide spreads but is frequently interrupted with a new concept that seems to be inserted just like a puzzle piece that was misplaced.

Panikova was born in Russia and now lives and operates between St. Petersburg and Rome. It's possible for you to see more of her current work on Z2O Galleria.
