Wooden Sculptures with Sprouted Wooden Limb by Camille Kachani

LebaneseBrazilian artist Camille Kachani creates funny wooden sculptures which directly reference their source, weaving root systems to household items such as chairs and shelves, whereas sprouting leafy plants out of the grips of hammers and hedge clippers. On account of their overgrown condition, the sculptures he assembles are left untreated, almost like their first substance is trying to reclaim the forged form. Garden tools such as a shovel and a hoe seem to come alive, imitation leaves covering the branches which have forked in their wooden foundation.

You may view more of Kachani’s functions through Sao Paulo’s Zipper Galeria where he’s currently represented.
