Artist Vincent Bal Uses Shadows to Create Whimsical Illustrations

The inspiration for the drawings of Belgian filmmaker and illustrator Vincent Bal comes from the shadows cast by everyday objects and detritus in the world. Bits of garbage and spare things from his house are reimagined as curvy outlines to get a cast of characters that differ from a young woman in a rainstorm to DJ in his flow. Other things, such as textured glass, create tremendous sun-spotted water for a garden pool. Bal is currently in making for a live-action film that integrates his shadow drawings known as Shadowology. You can support the production of this movie on Cinecrowd, and check out her prints on Etsy.
