Handcrafted Porcelain “State Plates” Map By Corbé

Detroit-based company Corbé has designed The Fifty United Plates Map as a ransom to hardworking craftspeople across the country. Their collection of handcrafted porcelain plates fit together and form a huge three-dimensional map that crosses seven feet by four feet. Separately, each non-stick State Plate is roughly 12 to 16 inches on its longest side, which makes them ideal for cakes, pies, casseroles, and appetizers. They could even double as planters for plants.

The collection of ceramic States was first released as a Kickstarter campaign in the summer of 2013. After two years, Corbé has perfected their whole map prototype and see it as a way to commemorate where Americans make their homes—specifically, those who are makers, farmers, and laborers that convert their communities into richer, more creative places.
