Guy Billout

Guy Billout (born in Decize at 1941) is a French artist and illustrator. He completed his art training at the French city of Beaune. Afterwards, he worked in advertising for a couple years before going to New York City in 1969. It was there that he found success when he had been printed in New York Magazine.

Billout’s aesthetic style is clean and spare, occasionally incorporating some ironic element. His work has been featured in Atlantic Monthly magazine and in many books, including a collection of Greek mythology.

Billout additionally has won a few awards. Hamilton King; The New York Times ten best-illustrated children’s books, 1973, 1979, 1981, 1982, 2007.
