Parkour (abbreviated PK), also called “the art of displacement”, is a training discipline of movement and holistic well-being. The simplest way to visualize parkour is as street gymnastics; while this may describe the closely related activity freerunning, it misses the practical philosophy of parkour. Practitioners aim to move quickly and efficiently through their environment using only their bodies and their surroundings to propel themselves, negotiating obstacles in between.
