Quick and satisfying lunches for business people

Busy business people always need ideas about lunch. Day in and day out it is unhealthy to grab a quick fast food bite. Eating out in cafeterias or restaurants can get expensive so the idea is to make the best food choices to make lunch delicious and nutritious. It always depends on how much time you have for lunch. You can bring your own lunch to work which might give you enough time to go out for a walk and be ready for the afternoon ahead.

And if you’re ordering out?

If you have chosen to order out for your lunch a great idea is a breaded chicken breast. It is always tasty and juicy and filling. If you crave fries and though you could only have them with a burger then think again. Crispy fries are a great accompaniment to a breaded chicken breast. But if you want to go much lighter you can have a tossed salad with your lunch. A breaded chicken breast makes a great lunch with whatever you choose to have with it.

The souped-up home sandwich

You can choose to bring in a sandwich from home. In this way you have the choice about what you place on your sub sandwich. You can make it from cold cuts, veggies, or perhaps egg salad. If you don’t want to eat too much bread you can choose to make your sandwich with pita bread. This will give you a satisfying lunch to get you through the rest of your workday. You can complement your lunch with juice, soda, tea, or coffee.

Or just good, old PB&J.

Peanut butter and jelly or PB&J sandwiches are not just for kids they are nutritious sandwiches that adults enjoy too. PB&J is easy to make and bring with you to work. You can make your sandwiches more of a taste treat with some added sliced bananas or thinly sliced apples on your sandwich. If you prefer you can make the sandwich with or without jelly. Either way a PB&J sandwich is nutritious and will keep you going through the rest of the workday.

Everybody loves chickpeas.

Chickpeas are versatile and can be added to salads or pita sandwiches. Just open up a can and rinse the chickpeas to prepare your meal. They can be added to all kinds of different salads. They go very well with vegetable salads made with cucumbers and tomatoes. Just drizzle on some olive oil and lemon juice or choose a salad dressing to place on top. If you wish you can use these ingredients and place them in a pita which will give you a tasty sandwich.

A substantial salad

Everyone enjoys a delicious salad now and then. There are many different types of salads which you can choose to make from the simple to the more complex. Lunch is a great time to enjoy a salad and if you choose not to make it at home you can find a salad bar near your office to make up just the kind of salad you would enjoy. The best idea is to pile your plate with a variety of veggies.

Pair with yogurt and nuts

Another good lunchtime choice is to go for yogurt to which you can add your favorite nuts. There are all kinds of great yogurts to choose from and among the tastiest are Greek yogurts. Make it a full and delicious lunch by adding nuts to you yogurts like walnuts or cashews. If you like you can also add some berries to your yogurt. It is a delicious combination to have yogurt, nuts, and berries too. You can always find places to buy these.

Fancier fare (aka leftovers, supercharged)

You might consider bringing leftovers for your lunch. Particularly if your office provides a lunch area with a microwave. Just bring your delicious leftovers from home in a microwavable dish and heat them up for a delicious and tasty lunch. Sometimes especially in cold weather, you need something warm and nutritious to eat. You cannot go wrong with leftovers that you know you enjoyed the day before and can have them again. It is a great idea when just a sandwich won’t do.
