Before and After: A Group Professional Artists Transformed Kids’ Monster Doodles into 3D Art

The Monster Project is a fascinating project that pairs kids with professional artists to polish up creature drawings that the kids create.

The project is based in Texas and has about 100 professional artists engaged. The model is straightforward: children invent monsters and draw them. Those drawings subsequently get passed to an artist that recreates them as polished pieces of finished work.

The goal is to help kids realize their creative potential.

. . .we hope to help them comprehend the value of their ideas and make them feel excited about the potential of their own minds

“Having a decreasing emphasis on arts in universities, many children do not have the chance for creative exploration they deserve. That’s a monstrous trend we would like to destroy,” the project’s website explains.

“By cooperating with the kids and finding inspiration out of their imaginings, we hope to help them recognize the value of the ideas and make them feel enthused about the capacity of their minds.”
