Late Showings at the Cinema by Emma Hartvig

On the first sight of this series by Swedish photographer, Emma Hartvig, two questions spring to mind: are we observing a crime scene or a decadent event?
Hartvig explains that we are in fact seeing elements of both. Inspired by the suspense produced in Hollywood thrillers, and especially the work of Alfred Hitchcock, the colourful collection of stills pays tribute to the many facets of ‘cinema’.

The photographer reveals: “Late Showings at the Cinema (2016) is a body of work depicting a glamorous setting with a strong feeling of tension. Hints of crime scenes or luxury events. At all times, you’d think something is about to happen, related to old Hollywood films – think Alfred Hitchcock’s cinematic tension.”
