Water Towers of Luxembourg by Gediminas Karbauskis

A series of black and white photographs of water pillars from different locations in Luxembourg by Lithuania-based photographer Gediminas Karbauskis. Water towers are standard everywhere, but it looks like these towers are designed and built as a focal point of the community. These constructions can be seen from a distance, so it makes sense to make them aesthetically delightful to look at.

One thing all water towers have in common, despite their initial purpose, they make striking landmarks in the country. They are, in some senses, the symbolical masterpieces that refer to industrialization. On the other hand, these tanks are also architectural appearances that do not relate ordinary water tower designs.
