The company currently operates as a subsidiary of Paris-based media conglomerate Vivendi and owns Universal Music Publishing Group, which is considered to be one of the most influential entities on this side of Europe when it comes to creating new songs for artists.
Universal’s global corporate headquarters are located just south off Santa Monica, California where they have their own entertainment studio that houses recording studios such as Genelec Studio A (the first ever commercial soundstage).
