NASA has recently expanded its Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth archive with thousands of images from the Artemis II mission. This collection now includes 12,217 photos captured by astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen during their 10-day mission around the moon, covering a distance of over 250,000 miles.
The photography equipment used during the mission included several Nikons and an iPhone 17, as reported by PetaPixel. While many images share similarities and some are slightly blurry, they collectively provide a vivid glimpse of the astronauts’ experience as they document Earth and the moon with enthusiasm.
Among the standout images are those that capture reflections of the astronauts’ hands and faces in the window of the Orion module. These compositions, alongside the sophisticated spacecraft equipment, offer a profound perspective on the Earth and moon, emphasizing their beauty and fragility.
