A31 Architecture created a rustic curved concrete art warehouse in the region of Boeotia, Greece. Located among olive, oleander and cypress trees, the artist workshop features an open-space gallery as well as a floor-to-ceiling window facade that looks out onto the rural landscape. In a statement about the project, the architects say the dome-shaped structure was designed to match a vault, which they see as a timeless architectural element.
From the architect. Between olive, oleander and cypress trees on a plot of 4,000 m2 and a few meters from his home in Dilesi, Boeotia, the ancient Delion, Greece, started building the new workshop of painter and sculptor Alexandros Liapis. A part of the landscape was incorporated in the sculpture gallery in the open space, hosting the artist’s creations.
