A harmonious duo between mountains and sea: Marble Masterpieces
Perched along Albania’s southern coast, the Duas Towers rise magnificently over the city of Vlorë. Crafted by OODA, these 98-meter mixed-use edifices are true architectural wonders that harmonize with their surroundings. One tower is circular, the other rectangular, but both share a unified design language. The architectural rhythm is inspired by the traditional rrodhe motif, typically seen in southern Albanian rugs, now reimagined in an urban context.

Tomorri marble: A dynamic facade of striking architecture
At the heart of the Duas Towers is the choice of Tomorri white marble. Selected from a quarry 60 kilometers inland, this stone transforms with daylight, shifting from cool white to warm hues by evening. The minimal veining allows it to reflect the surrounding landscape’s colors, bringing the exterior to life as awe-inspiring structures.

Crafting space with intent
The towers occupy two irregular plots, thoughtfully oriented to maximize sea views and daylight. Rising through 24 floors, these structures house hotels, residences, retail, and rooftop hospitality spaces. As monumental edifices, the buildings’ footprints engage uniquely with Vlorë’s cityscape, offering distinct perspectives from each angle.

Innovative material strategies
OODA’s commitment to sustainable construction extends beyond aesthetics. These visionary structures are being constructed with low-carbon binder mixes and using recycled aggregates to replace conventional materials. Proposed insulation includes hemp-clay and wood fiber, underscoring a dedication to eco-friendly design. Additionally, rainwater collection is planned for reuse on site.

Embodying a shared language
The Duas Towers may converge in architectural language, but they diverge in geometry, reshaping a quarry block and a cultural motif into towering coastal figures. These iconic creations showcase the interplay of form and tradition, culminating in an extraordinary tribute to both past and present.
