Revitalizing the landscape
In the heart of Shangxia Village, Jiashan, Zhejiang Province, an architectural marvel by HB Architects and Nature Time Art unfolds across 15,600 square meters. This once-village site, largely demolished save for two houses, now hosts the Jiashan Dayun Landison Manor, scheduled for completion in 2025. Vision and innovation have transformed the area into a striking retreat bordered by agricultural land and an irrigation canal.
Design highlights
The development’s standout feature is its earthy-toned architecture, which integrates with the natural environment. Bold geometric forms define the structures, which span 367 meters from east to west. The buildings are within a site that reaches a maximum width of 54 meters from north to south, offering diverse spaces within a compact footprint.
Artistic collaboration
Lead architects Bin He, Erxun Lai, and Jinjing Wei have masterfully used earthy palettes and innovative materials from 3trees to ensure the project harmonizes with its surroundings. The smooth, flat terrain aids in emphasizing the simplicity and elegance of the architecture.
