DEOS Architecture has crafted unique furniture pieces from hefty old-growth oak. This wood, difficult to source in America, is still found in Moldova, where DEOS is based. Romania, in particular, boasts tracts of old-growth forests, with some reportedly 300-400 years old.
This furniture draws its appeal from its primitive design and the scarcity of its raw material. The chunky pieces evoke an art-totem aesthetic, reminiscent of a designer’s childhood imagination.
DEOS is offering these distinctive pieces in a limited run. Each piece is priced at €1,000, approximately $1,180.
