Italian brand Lapalma has placed a selection of its recent products in the Showroom section of Dezeen. The range covers colour, lapalma modular seating, outdoor furniture and tables.
The collection starts with a new colour system. Lapalma developed it with architect and designer Raffaella Mangiarotti, and it works across the whole catalogue.
A colour system for the whole catalogue
The palette includes nine new shades and seven reworked versions of existing colours. Lapalma calls the set a “chromatic alphabet” because designers can combine the hues across seating, tables and accessories.

Mangiarotti tested each shade for how it looks on metal, wood and plastic.
Material matters as much as colour here, as shown in Studio Yann Gandon’s aluminium and rope stool for a lighter take.
Outdoor seating and tables
The Kipu Club is a new version of an original design by Anderssen and Voll. The outdoor chair is built to withstand exposure to the elements.

A curved backrest wraps partly around a pebble-shaped seat. The result is a soft, approachable place to lounge outside.

Designer Mario Ferrarini created the Kili tables and named the family after the cone-shaped outline of Mount Kilimanjaro. The tables come in several sizes and tabletop shapes.
Each table works as a sculptural object as well as a functional surface. Ferrarini considered every detail closely.
Fans of sculptural tables will enjoy Luis Gimeno’s dual-tone Kokeshi table, which pairs two finishes with restrained elegance.
Lapalma modular seating systems
Francesco Rota designed the HUB, a modular system that forms long, winding runs of seating. He wanted the pieces to act as “welcoming islands” for meeting, working, waiting or pausing.

Users can reorder the modules to shape new layouts. The system suits open-plan spaces where the arrangement needs to change.

Rota also extended the Plus outdoor seating system. The update adds sun loungers and new ways to combine modules.
The modules have rounded corners and a lozenge shape. Upholstery comes in a mix of vivid and muted tones, suited to outdoor lounging and socialising.
About Lapalma
Lapalma has spent forty years designing and manufacturing tables, seating and other modular furniture for indoor and outdoor use. The company regularly works with designers from Italy and abroad.

Its collaborators bring different approaches to the same goal: furniture that suits contemporary interiors. This release shows how one colour system can run across chairs, tables and hub modular seating, while the modules themselves stay open to rearrangement.
