Ben Zank’s Comical Surreal Photomanipulation

Brooklyn-based photographer Ben Zank has an eye for the uncommon. Unusual juxtapositions, embarrassing inconveniences, and frequently the continuing battle of existence itself are expressed during his photography. Zank frequently specifies statistics (a few of which can be self-portraits) since physically encumbered with faces obscured or turned off from the camera, apparently in the throes of individual battle. However, regardless of the adversity in every photograph, the component of comedy looks consistently present. It’s hard not to laugh and grin in the absurd predicaments he conceives of for every single shot, so reminding us to really take a look back occasionally and only laugh at the ridiculousness of everything.

Zank shares his job almost completely via Instagram and prints of several photos via Opium Gallery.
