Peak Design is widening its electronics range with a new line of peak design charging accessories, a category it calls “one of the most overlooked categories of everyday carry.” The new lineup includes a travel battery, a charger, a braided cable, and a wireless charging station.

Founder and CEO Peter Dering says the company wants to challenge a habit it sees in everyday tech. “Somewhere along the way, we accepted that the electronics we use every day should be cheap, disposable and just good enough. We think that’s absurd,” Dering says. “We didn’t set out to make another collection of chargers and cables. We set out to show just how much better these everyday products could be.”

Four products built around “fewer, better things”

Peak Design built these products around what it calls “fewer, better things.” Each product pairs premium materials with better functionality and the company’s design work.

The Wireless Travel Battery is the centerpiece. Peak Design calls it the world’s first Qi2.3-certified wireless charger. It measures 10.5mm thick and holds 5,000mAh. On battery power, it delivers 15W of wireless charging. Plugged into power, that rises to 25W. An integrated kickstand lets it double as a phone stand on the road.

Battery life is a recurring theme in portable tech, and Fairbuds 2 Earbuds With Replaceable Batteries take a different approach to keeping gear powered longer.

The Wireless Charging Station 2-in-1 is designed for the home base. It has two Qi2.2 magnetic charging pads, each rated up to 25W. Peak Design says it can charge two phones at once, which it notes sets it apart from similar stations. A USB-C port adds room for accessories such as earbuds or a smart watch. The station folds flat, so it can travel with its owner, though Peak Design positions it mainly as a home base.

How the peak design charging accessories work together

The Dual Slim Charger is meant to replace bulky charging bricks. It is half an inch thick and delivers up to 65W through two USB-C ports. The ports share power intelligently among whatever is plugged in. Its prongs fold flat, so it slides into a bag such as the Peak Design Tech Pouch.

The UltraStrand Cables complete the set of charging accessories. They feature braided construction and slim USB-C connectors. Buyers can choose a 60W or a 240W version. The 240W cable supports USB4 speeds up to 40Gbps.

If the UltraStrand cables have you rethinking your charging setup, Scosche’s Eye-Catching GloBright Cable Lights Up Charging shows how a cord can also be a style statement.
