The Nostalgic Design
The Xbox Series X25 stands out with its OG Green translucent appearance. This design choice harks back to the original console’s aesthetic, creating a sense of nostalgia for long-time fans. The console’s outer shell and controller share this cohesive look, while the backplate is contrasted with a classic black finish. It’s the first time Microsoft has applied such a translucent treatment to a current-generation model, and the result is undeniably captivating.

Power Meets History

According to Jason Ronald, VP of Next Generation, “The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition respects our history, with the power and performance of the Xbox Series X, including 1TB of storage.” Both the console and the controller proudly display the “Xbox 25” anniversary logo. Turning on the console illuminates the “X” button in green, amplifying its celebratory theme.
The controller retains the original ABXY button colors, adding a classic touch with black and white bumpers. The rear of the controller maintains the translucent design, showcasing the Xbox logo beneath. Despite its retro-inspired style, the controller’s ergonomic feel aligns with current-generation standards, designed for comfort and precision. Ronald teases “hidden surprises throughout,” promising delights for the lucky few who acquire this limited edition.
