The artist is fighting depression sometimes try to find an escape through their medium, just like Edward Honaker with his self-portrait project. He has created a portfolio of images that shows how he feels depression. Falling and immersion in water are common issues in his work, as well as true loss of face.
Edward Honaker is a 21-year-old photographer who was diagnosed with depression two years ago. He started the depression portfolio as a way of coping, and to inspire others.
“When I was creating the portfolio, I asked myself if I was the kind of person whom others would feel comfortable coming to if they were going through a difficult time and needed someone to talk to,” artist told Huffington Post. “Truthfully, at the time, I don’t think I was. I’ve still got quite a ways to go, but the whole experience made me a lot more patient and empathetic towards others.”
