Artist Jacqueline Poirier is willing to cook up and serve some yummy artwork. Using plain dinner plates as her canvas, she paints hyperrealistic food portraits that display an awesome use of detail, light, and shadow. While Poirier does paint other subjects, she has to agree that these culinary pieces are the apple of her eye.
“I think they are my favorites because they seem to be the most realistic,” she tells Instagram Blog. “They appeal to the masses (vegetarians included!) and act as great conversation pieces around the table.”
Based on some designs the artist has created, it’s safe to say that she’s been the source of many mealtime conversations. As of right now, she’s painted over 1,500 plates.
