In her latest series, “Love Letters,” Los Angeles-based artist Hilary Pecis presents a new collection of acrylic paintings. Her work captures ordinary details and often overlooked scenes of daily life. This series features vibrant depictions of a backyard pool, a studio worktop’s corner, and a picnic complete with a strawberry cake.
Pecis employs photographs as a reference, transforming unique moments onto linen. She uses paints with a consistent opacity, blending both similar and exaggerated hues, while focusing on texture and pattern. Each element, from plant fronds to the water’s shimmering surface, reflects her careful attention to detail.
