The Forest-Inspired Retreat Experience

The cabin’s exterior is clad in vertically louvered larch, sourced locally, with pine tar staining that camouflages it beautifully into the forest. As one approaches, the vertical slats let filtered light create an interplay of shadows akin to a Japanese shoji screen. This woodland retreat easily blends with its natural surroundings.

The ingenious use of site topography enhances the cabin’s uniqueness. Situated next to a stream, visitors arrive at its roof level, descending to explore further. This roof is a living canvas of moss, grasses, and ferns transplanted from the very land it sits upon, creating an illusion that the forest floor has risen into place. Above, a boardwalk guides guests to a spa terrace featuring a sauna, hot tub, and ice bath, offering an experience that feels both natural and surreal. It connects seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.
Interiors unfold in a cross-shaped layout, rich in tactile materials. Privacy is thoughtfully considered with curtains, maintaining a fluid atmosphere.
