Hybrid Ceramic Sculptures of Women by Juliette Clovis

Ceramic sculptures by French contemporary artist Juliette Clovis  based in Bordeaux, France. Her work investigates topics of attack and metamorphosis in the human body, converting the female figure into composite beings. The figures are covered with a profusion of natural elements packed with wildlife and flora with some pieces appearing fully anthropomorphic, challenging and painful. Enchanted by the wild beauty of nature, the artist draws inspiration from the findings made on her many trips to build her human jungles and to examine female identity in relation to nature.

On view at Galerie Mondapart March 23–May 4.
