The piece is comprised of over 500,000 drinking cups, methodically ready in a formulation of varying uncovered heights, presenting the appearance of flowing water plus a cloud creation as seen from above. Donovan’s insistent assembly of a striking mass material to a brand new respiratory form questions our senses of its transience. A readily disregarded trivial item today presents itself at a geomorphic arena. By these means, Donovan believes that the beauty in everyday things, but also the permanence of these substances in our planet.
