Jan Banning is a renowned Dutch photographer who uses his work to explore the politics of power. Born in 1954 to parents with roots in the former Dutch East Indies, he went on to study social and economic history at Nijmegen University before beginning his career as a photographer in 1981. His thought-provoking photos have captured post-war realities across Europe, delving into how governments affect citizens' lives both directly and indirectly.
