sigh, i wish you white folks would leave black folks alone, the only black image, some damn fools with guns acting badly..

While I can kind of see where you’re coming from, the “real” black folks in that image are peacefully walking along, minding their own business.

They are, however, listening to violent music, which is performed by rappers who are playing characters (sort of) in glorification of a thug lifestyle. And THIS is what that piece was a commentary on. Not on black people being somehow bad, or inherently violent– but rather, normal, neutral, or otherwise peaceful people giving their attention and respect to a violent culture. That’s what I get from this piece. Not blacks = violence or whatever you seem to think it portrays.

      1. tesmith47 says:

i believe you, but because of the dearth of Black images in the White art world the commentary is still negative about Black folks.
I do understand that it is difficult for un biased White folks to understand the on going social assault on Black folks

        1. LadyDon (@_LadyDon) says:

Sir, the ongoing assault is upon all of the working classes regardless of color. As long as we believe we are more divided by our color or religions than we are united by our common humanity we will fail to move mankind forward. United WE stand!

    2. DERP says:

Did you even look at that picture? Have you listened to rap before? Good job portraying ANOTHER stereotype regarding illiteracy and lack of culture.
