Emillie Ferris is not your typical artist. She has honed her distinctive embroidery technique for over a decade, which entails staggering long and short stitches to create three-dimensional renderings of plants and wildlife. Her book, Paint with Thread: A Step-by-Step Guide to Embroidery Through the Seasons, is presently in process and scheduled for publication by David & Charles. She will teach you how to create beautiful paintings using thread in this book!
The how-to book contains instructions for making five of the projects featured here and contributions from the artist, and tips and tricks. It’s available for pre-order on Bookshop, but you can find more of Ferris’ instructional videos and designs on Etsy meanwhile.
