His passion for photography was ignited by his aunt, editor-in-chief of La Vie catholique, who familiarized him with the magazine’s darkroom. He built a robust career, working with Sipa Press and as editor-in-chief of Photo Magazine from 1985 to 1987, before dedicating himself entirely to Visa pour l’Image.

He was honored as a Chevalier des Arts et Lettres and a Chevalier de l’Ordre du Mérite. Under his stewardship, Visa pour l’Image became a major hub for international photojournalists, attracting over 220,000 visitors annually.
