Polish artist Helena Minginowicz unveils a captivating transformation of the mundane into the magnificent. She airbrushes detailed portraits of faces, bodies, and animals onto unexpected canvases: paper towels, tissues, and cosmetic sheet masks. These are surfaces typically discarded after moments of use.
The intricate embossed patterns of these disposable materials are not hidden but become integral to the artwork itself. Faces emerge seamlessly from quilted textures, and figures seem to dissolve into the creases and folds, creating a unique interaction between image and surface.

Among the standout pieces is one engraved with the title “GREAT EXPECTATIONS / I’m my own biggest disappointment,” rendered on a simple paper tissue. This work is part of the current exhibition “Let’s Face It” hosted at Warsaw’s Galeria Lotna, showcasing Minginowicz’s innovative approach to art.
