Permanent whimsy: Jello Lamp’s inspiration and design
The Jello Lamp by MAJU takes inspiration from the fleeting charm of gelatin desserts and balloon sculptures, transforming these ephemeral delights into a lasting light fixture. Behind the scenes is designer Hyu Lim, who works from studios in California and Singapore. Using sculptural geometry and plant-based materials, Lim crafts this 3D printed lamp to evoke the softness and bounce of its inspirations.

The art of fleeting curves
The Jello Lamp’s silhouette is a celebration of generous curves and scalloped edges, reminiscent of playful balloon shapes and molded treats. These elements come together to form a piece that balances friendly familiarity with refined elegance. Its translucent shade diffuses light gently, making the lamp both a functional light source and an entrancing sculpture.

Sustainable craftsmanship in every order
Produced to order, each Jello Lamp is crafted using plant-based, biodegradable PLA. This ensures minimal waste and reduces inventory. The modular design means that both the shade and base can be easily replaced or upgraded. The lamp also includes a built-in cord organizer, keeping cables tidy.

Measuring 9.5 × 9.5 × 12.25 inches and weighing about half a pound, the lamp features a low-energy 2.9W bulb with a warm 2700K color temperature. Part of MAJU’s contemporary home collection, it captures the dual influences of Eastern and Western design aesthetics.

Function meets form
The Jello Lamp cleverly mirrors its inspirations—a whimsical balloon flower and a molded dessert. The intricate scalloped shade is flawlessly 3D printed as one continuous piece, ensuring a seamless visual flow and structural integrity.

A warm, inviting glow
The lamp’s translucent shade bathes any space in a soft, 2700K glow. This diffused light complements the lamp’s smooth, fluted design, fostering an inviting atmosphere that feels both artistic and functional.
