In the serene landscapes of Upstate New York, Aston Martin collaborates with S3 Architecture to craft Sylvan Rock, a residential masterpiece that blends seamlessly with its rocky environment. The faceted, black-metal roofline of this house mirrors the natural rock formations, creating a striking harmony with the site in Red Hook.
For a similar fusion of nature and architecture, discover Formosa’s innovative home, which blends innovation with nature in Buckinghamshire.

This architectural marvel is designed with precision, as its roof meets the ground at the lowest end, forming a walkway to the primary entrance. Christopher Dierig of S3 Architecture explains, “The roofline mimics the jagged edges of the rock ledge reaching down into the earth, as if the home is born of and launching from the landscape.”

Design Features and Luxurious Interiors
A stairway guides visitors from the subdued lower entrance to the house’s main areas, which are elevated across two stories atop the stone outcropping. Below, a plinth-like garage leads to a swimming pool carved into the rock, which the studio describes as “subterranean.”

The house, an example of modern architecture, boasts glass walls interwoven with black metal panels, framing its four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Ground-level living and dining spaces seamlessly integrate with the pool areas, and a glass bridge connects to a spa and sauna.

Inside, luxury wood elements and stone create a serene, muted palette. A floating staircase elegantly ascends to the bedrooms, where balconies offer expansive views of the wooded surroundings. Wood ceilings and beams brighten the space, with multiple fireplaces adding warmth, including one in the main suite. This all exemplifies luxury home design.
Another remarkable architectural project, Tato Architects’ home in Tochigi, showcases innovation with its use of charred cedar and plywood.

A Unique Aston Martin Touch
The interiors, designed by the Aston Martin team, feature custom furniture and unique details echoing the brand’s identity. This includes a lattice motif in the wine storage and a cinema with seating reminiscent of car interiors.
The lush estate expands beyond the main residence, with guest houses, a pavilion, and a treehouse mirroring the main structure’s architectural style. This stands as one of only two globally branded Aston Martin homes, with the other located in Japan.

This collaboration marks a trend of automotive brands venturing into architectural design, with Aston Martin’s entry into residences echoing developments like Bugatti’s planned Miami skyscraper and Aston Martin’s own skyscraper planned for 2024.
