Amazing cabins, in the countryside in Iceland, Reykjavik, ÖÖD with collaboration with Panorama Glass Lodge, tourists can rent out the luxurious glass bungalows for an unforgettable vacation. These cabins’ front sleeping parts made of glass, to make sure that guests can appreciate the beautiful surroundings while remaining comfy inside.
Andreas Tiik, CEO of ÖÖD, says that thanks to transparent glass, stargazing reaches another level and makes a guest feel the comfort of home. The combination of warmth and coziness of a cabin with robust and howling wind gives you a perfect, unforgettable hideaway. The stern of the hut, which accommodates a sitting space, bathroom, and an open kitchen, is clothed in thermally adjusted ash. This timber is not only strong and enduring but also livable. The ash used in some of the furniture, and the flooring carries rich tones into the cabin.
ÖÖD’s goal was to create this cabin a useable and comfortable place to be. A crucial aspect of such a tiny place, situated in a very harsh environment. Windows on the roof made of “warm glass.” It works thanks to electric tides and oxidizing of metal to one surface of the glass. It acts as the central heating of a cabin, but also it melts snow and ice. Guests will always have an unobstructed view of a skyline when relaxing in bed, thanks to anti-condensation.
The inside’s open stream provides a comfortable feel to the cabin, which was a conscious choice by the designers. The bungalows do not lack room. There are drawers below the bed, providing tourists with space to keep their clothes, and the cabinets created to include space for luggage. The last commodity is that guests, when overwhelmed with too much light during summer months, can block the light by using curtains around the bed.
