Inspired by Botticelli’s Venus, Russian artist Anya Kozlova recreated the timeless beauty as an intricate porcelain doll.

And to complete the effect, Kozlova painted a fitting background to shoot against the doll, perfectly recreating the Birth of Venus painting.

Kozlova specializes in such dolls that are elaborate. Each one has human ball joints and hand-carved and hand-painted details, making them look highly realistic. You can follow Kozlova’s work here for more behind-the-scenes shots of her job. It’s a fascinating procedure.
