Ornamental Laser-Cut Compositions From Paper With Hand-Painted Ink By Julia Ibbini

United Emirates-based artist Julia Ibbini sources components from Islamic geometry, embroidery, meenakari enamel work, and even electronic music to inspire the designs that write her laser-cut paper works. The complex designs and layers of her vibrant compositions are a metaphor for the artist multicultural background as a double national from Jordan and the UK, also discuss elements of symbolism seen in the Middle East region. Ibbini uses computer algorithms to make digital designs she laser cuts paper. She then layers these particular pieces and hand-paints them with ink in sparkling shades of pink, blue, yellow, and orange.
