Last year, the Koenigsegg Saidair’s Spear made headlines when it set a speed record in the reverse-course configuration of the Goodwood Hill course. Now, the Swedish hypercar manufacturer returns with a life-sized LEGO replica of the Saidair Spear, aiming to capture the title of the fastest brick-built vehicle.
The LEGO Group crafted this remarkable 1:1 replica, showcasing their Ultimate Car Concept Series. Past creations in this series include the Bugatti Chiron and Ferrari Monza SP1. This driveable LEGO masterpiece celebrates the launch of the 1:8 LEGO Technic set, featuring 4,104 intricate pieces and designed to be displayed at 23.2 inches long, 5.9 inches tall, and 11 inches wide.

Breaking the previous 31 mph record set by the LEGO McLaren P1, this intricate model reached an astonishing 69 mph. Powered by a piston-style V8 engine linked to a nine-speed sequential gearbox, the car features a rear wheel-powered electric motor for additional thrust. True to its inspiration, it sports a paddle-mounted steering wheel, Triplex suspension, and a rotary display for the selected gear. It even boasts a ‘Ghost mode,’ where the rear body section lifts, doors swing open, and mirrors retract at the press of a button.
Immerse yourself further in LEGO’s creative automotive world by exploring their exquisite Pan Am DC-3 set, capturing aviation’s golden era.

The full-size model, created from 327,000 LEGO Technic pieces over 9,400 man hours, showcases a deep black finish. It includes non-LEGO elements like Koenigsegg carbon wheels with Pirelli tires and motorsport-grade disc brakes. Beneath its stunning exterior lies a metal chassis and FIA-certified roll cage.

Weighing in at 1,800 kg, with 1,200 kg attributed to its engine, this marvel includes playful ‘easter eggs’ in its design. As described by LEGO’s design lead, Lubor Zelinka, you’ll find Star Wars ship canopies in the headlights, and house windows and train windows adapted as rear lights. It even uses a wheel arch from the Corvette C8 set for the brake callipers.

While this LEGO hypercar won’t become a plaything, despite any financial means, fans can catch it in action during a global promotional tour.
