Laurie Simmons (born October 3, 1949) is a photographer and filmmaker, best known for her work with dolls that reference domestic scenes. Since the mid-1970s she has created photographs of people in their homes as well; all while being part The Pictures Generation – an artists collective made up on various talented individuals who have helped shape pop culture over time such as Andy Warhol or Jean-Michel Basquiat.
In 1971 at only 19 years old Laurie received her Bachelor’s Degree from Tyler School.
