Shepard Fairey

Born in 1970, Frank Shepard Fairey became an American contemporary graphic designer and illustrator. His artistry emerged from the skateboarding scene when he first began creating t-shirts for his friends to sell at school as a way of supporting themselves financially (and instead of making lots of cash). He is most well known though for one particular project: The "OBEY" sticker campaign where we appropriated images from Weekly World News into prominent locations across America's cities. It was this work that landed him on Time magazine's list of 100 People Who Shape Our World."
