When Beth Bird from Toronto lost 150 pounds, her friend photographer and illustrator Blake Morrow decided to make a series of portraits, where he shows before and after weight-loss at the same time: the old and the new Beth. The resulting project was called Beth Project.

“It was really her trusting me to help define this whole journey for her,” Morrow said. “So because my background is in photography as well as graphic design and art direction this was right up my alley.”

The best part of the whole project, he said, was his subject. “I was honored that Beth was so open and willing to be herself while taking on these character scenarios to act through in front of my lens.”
