Astronaut Scott Kelly is on his way to becoming the first American to travel on the world’s longest spaceflight. Since his launch in spring 2015, the commander has been photographing this journey with a series of artistic snapshots. Some show Earth from an ultimate aerial view and make our planet seem as though it’s a totally different world. Others depict outer space’s most striking light sources, including vivid auroras and the glorious Milky Way. Since Kelly recently reached the halfway point of his year-long journey, this means that we can look forward to seeing many more abstract images in the future.
