Unveiling a comprehensive 60-piece ensemble, Danish producer ege Carpets introduces Superflex—a flooring collection as diverse in design as it is resilient. This series offers an array of aesthetic configurations such as sfumato compositions, organic-cut collages, and intricate effects including marbled, stone-relief, floral, and patchwork patterns. It’s crafted to bring character to commercial and public spaces, while skillfully transitioning between functional zones.

Available in 48 × 48, 96 × 96, and 24 × 96 cm formats, Superflex allows designers and architects a vast playground to experiment with layout and rhythm. Its geometry, marked by bold dimensional shapes and layered motifs, empowers endless creative possibilities.

The Shape of Perception: An Innovative Display

Anthropologist and designer Rikke Skytte highlighted Superflex’s unique geometric appeal at Copenhagen’s 3daysofdesign through “The Shape of Perception” installation. This immersive environment employed the full range of Superflex products alongside complementary loose-fiber materials, emphasizing the intrinsic connection between shape and sensory perception—a concept as old as humanity itself.

The installation featured free-standing sculptures like cubes, spheres, and prisms, enhanced by draped fabrics and tubular metal forms. It offered a tactile and visual exploration, showcasing the textile’s texture and color juxtaposed with the various patterns of Superflex planks and tiles.

This creative endeavor aimed to evoke unexpected emotional responses through sight, touch, and sensorial engagement, drawing parallels to the primordial cave dwelling. The practical objective behind this artistic expression was to demonstrate the diverse applicability of Superflex solutions in various settings.
