In the bustling cityscape of São Paulo, Pietro Terlizzi Arquitetura has crafted the Lima House, a single-family haven that harmonizes mountain and coastal vibes within its urban setting. This stunning 400-square-meter residence invites nature into its very core by minimizing internal walls and maximizing outdoor views.

A Fusion of Natural Materials and Open Design

The Lima House, meticulously wrapped in brick, timber, and wood, unfolds across three levels: a ground-level social area, private quarters above, and a garage below. The design evokes the airy feel of a beach house using materials like stone, wood, and brick. Notable features include a pool, outdoor swing, and a spa, all designed for leisure within the home’s walls.

Explore how organic materials in design can bring a natural feel to your living spaces.

Architectural openness is further achieved with high ceilings that bathe the interior in natural light and encourage cross ventilation. The use of strategically placed vegetation completes the seamless blend between indoor and outdoor spaces.

An Artistic Outdoor Experience

Drawing inspiration from the iconic Roberto Burle Marx, the pool area is a central element of the design. The surrounding landscape and water features blend straight and curved lines, offering a dynamic experience that embraces nature’s contours. A suspended walkway, adorned with São Tomé stone and wood-like flooring, enhances the free-flowing layout.

A swing, perched beneath a pergola and next to an orchidarium, adds a playful yet serene touch. This outdoor area extends the interior’s natural material palette, repeating the soothing textures of stone and wood throughout.

Gourmet Balcony and Interior Craftsmanship

The gourmet balcony forms the heart of social interaction, bridging the gap between the indoors and the pool through expansive 9-meter sliding doors. Brick surfaces and Garapeira wood beams reflect the home’s interior style, while providing structural elegance.

Spatial continuity is achieved through minimal internal partitions, allowing light and air to flow freely. Freijó wood highlights specific details, accentuating the harmony between design elements and the surrounding environment.

Designed by @pietro_terlizzi_arquitetura, the Lima House stands as a testament to thoughtful architectural practices that celebrate both function and beauty within São Paulo’s urban landscape.
