“Wall Ride” – Matt Reilly Creates Paintings By Performing Skateboard Tricks On A Ramp

Brooklyn-based artist Matt Reilly has created a series of paintings through skateboarding at the Jersey City’s Mana Contemporary. The project titled “Wall Ride”, is a performing art piece that requires the artist to skate back-and-forth over a half-pipe ramp that was covered in a white canvas. The wheels of the skateboard were attached with sponges that were dipped in a variety of colors—every stroke and line created were unique to each painting.
