“2026 Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards: Hilarious Caiman and 10,000 Entries from 112 Nations”

The Nikon Comedy Wildlife Awards have unveiled their 2026 finalists, offering a delightful showcase of the natural world’s humorous side. Among the 40 individual images, a caiman sporting a comical wig stands out, capturing the theme perfectly. This year’s competition attracted over 10,000 entries from 112 countries, marking its highest participation yet.

Celebrating Conservation Through Laughter: Nikon Comedy Wildlife

Since its inception in 2015 by Paul Joynson-Hicks MBE and Tom Sullam, the awards have grown beyond expectations, highlighting the importance of conservation. The 2026 partner is the Born Free Foundation, which works to rescue wild animals from exploitation and protect threatened species and their habitats.

As co-founder Tom Sullam expressed, the competition began in the Serengeti as a small effort to promote wildlife conservation. It has since evolved into a global event, using humor to foster empathy and encourage positive change in wildlife photography.
