Dab Rigs vs. Dry Herb Vaporizers: The Differences and the Similarities

Are you curious about the different cannabis consumption methods, particularly dab rigs and dry herb vaporizers, and want to know more about them? Do you want to know the differences between dry herb vaporizers and dab rigs, and which is best to use?

Dry herb vaporizers are becoming more and more popular. There are a variety of reasons that people love these devices, such as the fact that they do not produce smoke or toxins like traditional cigarettes, but instead heat herbs to release the active ingredients without burning them. This makes for a much cleaner experience than smoking, which can lead to respiratory problems over time.

Vaporizing has become so popular because it provides an alternative to smoking and other methods of consumption while also giving you many benefits over those other methods. While vapes are a popular way to consume marijuana, another newer and popular way to consume it is by using a dab rig. If you are not sure what these two devices are and how they differ from each other, continue reading.

Dry Herb Vaporizers

Though vaporizers come in all shapes and sizes, they all have one common purpose: to heat cannabis (or other substances) until a vapor is created. This vapor can then be inhaled, providing the user with a clean and efficient high. As Daily High Club states, there are many different types of vaporizers on the market, with dry herb vaporizers being the most popular.

Dry herb vaporizers are fairly new to the market but have quickly become one of the most popular products for people to make use of in the cannabis industry. Many people know about vaporizers and that they make use of concentrates, whether it’s nicotine, THC, or CBD. However, these dry herb vaporizers, unlike standard vaporizers, make use of the actual flower instead of a concentrate.

For these dry herb vaporizers to allow for users to inhale the vapor, the chamber in which the plant is placed is heated to extreme temperatures using either convection or conduction heating methods. This allows for the cannabinoids to be drawn out of the herb and become a vapor.

These vaporizers consist of the vape itself, a chamber for the weed, a mouthpiece, a battery, and if you have a fancier one, a screen to display all of the settings. There are also different types of vaporizers from tabletop ones that use electricity, to handheld and portable vapes which use battery power.

Benefits of Dry Herb Vaporizers

Many people are starting to make use of dry herb vaporizers more and more often for a multitude of reasons, and there are so many benefits that they have to offer. The biggest reason why people use dry herb vaporizers is that it is a great alternative to smoking. It still allows for the user to use the flower, but they are inhaling vapor instead.

With that said, there are no harmful carcinogens that are inhaled when vaping with a dry herb vaporizer, and theoretically, in the long run, it will be a lot cheaper because you don’t have to pay for expensive concentrates, nor do you have to consistently buy rolling papers and filters.

They are very beginner-friendly and easy to use too.

Dab Rigs

Next up we have the dab rig. This is yet another newer addition to the cannabis world and has also become popular in recent years. Dab rigs look very similar to bongs in their style, and even work similarly to them, in the fact that they have a water chamber to cool down the smoke before it goes to your lungs.

That’s where the similarities end though. Dab rigs are pipes that use water and a concentrated form of cannabis which is either wax, oil, or rosin. Dab rigs also don’t make use of any combustion and don’t produce smoke, which means you are inhaling a vapor.

Benefits of Dab Rigs

There are plenty of benefits that come with using dab rigs, but the main reason why people use them is that they use concentrates that are much higher in THC. This allows for the user to get much higher in a much shorter amount of time, but also with a much smaller amount of product.

Other benefits include the fact that there is no smoke involved which means minimal lung damage risk. They are also very user-friendly and easy to use once you get the hang of them.

Other Devices

There are plenty of other devices to choose from if neither of these appeals to you. If you don’t want to smoke, you could try your hand at some edibles, or even beverages containing marijuana. Other options also include tinctures, topical things such as lotions, and other inhalation methods like smoking joints, and blunts, as well as bongs.

Although with all of that said, the two above-mentioned consumption methods, dab rigs, and dry herb vaporizers, it is clear that these options are superior and far less harmful to your lungs.
