Photographer Documents Magnificient Beauty of Libraries around the World

Since 2011, French-born, New York-based photographer Franck Bohbot has traveled around the world on a journey to document the mesmerizing beauty of libraries for his ongoing series called House of Books. From Rome to Tokyo to Paris, he creates a visual record of the cultural institutions that have been as sanctuaries of education and learning for millennia.

Whether they are sleek and contemporary or decorated with centuries-old ornamentation, the beautiful libraries that Bohbot images all share one thing in common—shelves and shelves of beautiful books.
